Our story begins in 1954, when Fernando Almeida Alves de Sousa, at the age of 36 and father of the current Chairman of the Board, acquired a minority stake in SOIMGRA - Sociedade Importadora de Material Gr\u00e1fico.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Fernando Almeida Alves de Sousa acquired the remaining shares, taking full ownership of the company. At that time, SOIMGRA represented several companies, including the German MERCEDES (letterpress printing machines), the Swiss COLOR-METAL (offset printing machines), and the French V. BOUZARD (pre-press equipment). <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

A representation agreement was established with MGD-MIEHLE-GOSS-DEXTER, an American manufacturer of newspaper printing presses. Initially, SOIMGRA, and later TECNIMPRENSA, led the newspaper printing press market in Portugal.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

1963<\/div><\/div>

The son and current Chairman of the Board, Fernando, at 17, left his studies and began working at SOIMGRA.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Representation agreement was signed with BICICI, an Italian manufacturer of flexographic printing presses, rotogravure, extruders, laminators, and rewinding cutters, resulting in the sale and installation of about 25 machines over a decade.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Representation agreement was signed with FERAG, a Swiss manufacturer of newspaper dispatch systems for transporting and stacking printed copies at the output of newspaper printing presses. SOIMGRA held a 100% market share for the FERAG brand for nearly 20 years, with key clients including DI\u00c1RIO DE LISBOA, JORNAL DE NOT\u00cdCIAS, DI\u00c1RIO POPULAR, and O COM\u00c9RCIO DO PORTO. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

The first GOSS printing press, a Metroliner, was sold to Di\u00e1rio Popular and installed in the basement of the newspaper\u2019s building in Bairro Alto.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Representation agreement was signed with CROSFIELD ELECTRONICS, a British manufacturer of studio scanners. Several pieces of equipment were sold and installed, which significantly contributed to the technological breakthrough in the graphic arts sector in Portugal, revolutionizing the possibilities for image assembly in studios.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

The first CROSFIELD scanner was sold to the pre-press company SIM\u00c3O GUIMAR\u00c3ES and installed on Jos\u00e9 Falc\u00e3o Street in Porto.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Under the leadership of the patriarch and managing partner of SOIMGRA, TECNIMPRENSA was founded as the group's second company. It later came under the leadership of his son, Fernando Jorge, with the collaboration of his brother, Rui Alves de Sousa.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

A flexographic printing press was sold to MIRANDELA Artes Gr\u00e1ficas for printing Totobola bulletins.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

SOIMGRA ceased its activities following the retirement of founder Fernando Almeida Alves de Sousa.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

A representation agreement was signed with X-RITE, a U.S. manufacturer of densitometers, colorimeters, and spectrophotometers. One of the world\u2019s fastest newspaper printing presses, a GOSS Visa, was sold to MIRANDELA ARTES GR\u00c1FICAS for printing A BOLA, P\u00daBLICO, and a wide range of regional newspapers.<\/p>\n

The first newspaper printing press was sold to UNIPRESS for printing the Northern editions of A BOLA and P\u00daBLICO. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

The largest newspaper printing press in Portugal, a GOSS Universal 70, was sold to EMPRESA GR\u00c1FICA FUNCHALENSE to print the Southern editions of A BOLA, DI\u00c1RIO DE NOT\u00cdCIAS, and JORNAL DE NOT\u00cdCIAS in Sintra.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
